It's nice to know that some celebrities are truly invested in their mates. Life can be rough after a heart-breaking Super Bowl loss, though, so the famous couple retreated into their anger and misery, ...in Costa Rica!
Yes, that's right, the diligent paparazzi tracked the couple down in Costa Rica, where they were drowning their sorrows in soft sand and warm tropical waters. Accompanying them were Patriots receiver Wes Welker and fiancee Anna Burns.
Word to the wise Wes, don't drop the ball. We've seen Gisele pissed, and Costa Rica is a long way from home...
In any case Gisele and Tom have better things to do than fend off rowdy fans. Besides, what kind of a comment is "Eli owns your husband!" Any married person knows Gisele owns him, whether he realizes it or not.
The truth is, the vacation was probably a rare break from hectic lives. When the couple is comprised of one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and an iconic supermodel, finding time to rest, let alone for each other is tough.
Plus, while it may be off-season for Tom, Gisele always has something going on. On her blog, she talks about her recent trip as a goodwill ambassador to Kenya. Here is an excerpt:
" My trip to Kenya was to learn about energy poverty, but I also learned about women working together to empower themselves and make changes in their lives. We visited a group of women in the rural area of Migori who were learning new skills to change their lives.
I was touched by one of the young mothers who shared her story and the challenges of raising kids on her own. In order to provide food for her family, she was walking 8 miles to the market each way to sell bananas. If she didn’t sell the bananas, her family went hungry. She was struggling and the women of her village stepped in to help."

Tom Brady is no slouch off the field either. Tom works with the Best Buddies International Charity, which helps intellectual and developmentally disabled individuals lead more independent lives as part of their community.
With all of this going on, a Costa Rican getaway seems like the perfect way to unwind. Now if they could just shake the paparazzi!
